Pastor Margrethe Kleiber

Interim Minister, Pastor Margrethe Kleiber

Born and raised in Hawaii, Pastor Kleiber has lived in Connecticut, Washington, California, Illinois, and Virginia, as well as in Latin America, Europe, and Africa.

Pastor Kleiber was ordained on August 22, 1993, at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. She has pastored congregations in California, the United Kingdom, and Virginia and served on staff with the ELCA Division for Global Mission.

Pastor Kleiber specializes in intentional interim ministry, an intensive self-reflection process for congregations who are between pastors.

The Kleibers live in Alexandria, Virginia, with their two cats, Simba and Nala. Her husband, Tony, is a Foreign Service Officer, who has served in Mexico, Thailand, Northern Ireland, England, Burundi, and Afghanistan. He is currently on a domestic assignment with the Department of State.
