Worship leader schedules:

These two schedules are also available on the Acolytes and Deacons page.

Augustanan (our quarterly newsletter – see below) Deadline: November 7. If you have something you’d like included in the newsletter, please submit to the office by this time (office@augustanadc.org).

Become a new member at Augustana: Individuals will be received as members on at least one other Sunday this year. If you would like to join this congregation, contact Pastor Kidd or at 202-234-5315.

Feeling hospitable? You may be the key volunteer Augustana needs to coordinate hosts and helpers for Sunday “happy hours” that follow services.  Interested?  Contact Laura Schulte at 202-234-5315.

Fall is here, and that means it’s time to focus once again on stewardship, time for each of us to ponder prayerfully how much of our time, talent, and money we will offer Augustana during the coming year. In addition, this fall each of us will be asked for our thoughts and goals for Augustana in the future. As you think about what you would like Augustana to be in the future, why not also think about how you might support that future beyond your lifetime by including Augustana in your estate plans? More than a dozen Augustana members have already made such a commitment. Just contact the church office for an estate-planning packet, or talk to Pr. Kidd or Carol Capps for more information.

Exciting ushering opportunity! Contact Tommie Robinson for more info.

Exercise for Seniors Program at GWU: Every 18 seconds an older adult is treated in an emergency room for a fall. Breana Uhrig, a member of Augustana, is working with the Exercise for Seniors Program at The George Washington University to help prevent falls among seniors. The 3-month program is FREE and accepting 15 more participants. The program involves simple, at-home exercises that build strength to prevent falls. The GWU team has been at Augustana following the services on some Sundays in October. See Breana Uhrig at hospitality hour, or call Caroline Sparks, Ph.D. at (202) 994-3589 for more information.

First Communion class for children whom parents think are ready in September or October. If your child is ready to receive communion, please contact Pastor Kidd at pastor@augustanadc.org or 202-234-5315.

Semillitas Child Care still has spots available! The new daycare, whose name means “little seeds”, will be renting our social hall and is still enrolling for the fall. Do you know someone who is looking for affordable childcare in a great location? If so, let them know about Semillitas! For more information, check out their web site,  or call Nancy at 202-702-3045.
